The PSNI has linked today's discovery of bomb components in Lurgan, Co Armagh, to dissident republican paramilitaries and said a bomb was being constructed for an imminent attack.
It said the components were intended for a bomb weighing 200lbs, which was intended for an imminent attack.
They were discovered during a security operation at a breaker's yard on the Antrim Road.
Four men, aged between 22 and 46, were arrested.
The officer in charge of the investigation, Superintendent Alan Todd, said people in the district where the equipment was found could have been in danger.
