A London coroner has ruled that BBC cameraman Simon Cumbers, who was shot dead while filming in Saudi Arabia, was unlawfully killed.
Mr Cumbers, from Co Meath, was killed on 6 June 2004 when gunmen opened fire on a news team in Riyadh.
The BBC’s security correspondent Frank Gardner was seriously injured in the incident and has since returned to work.
The West London Coroner Alison Thompson said it appeared Mr Cumbers had been the victim of an opportunistic attack.
