A woman being questioned by gardaí in relation to the killing of Rachel O'Reilly has been released without charge from Drogheda Garda Station.

She left in a car without commenting to waiting reporters.

The 37-year-old woman was arrested at 3.30pm yesterday and was questioned about withholding information.

A man, described by gardaí as the chief suspect in the case, was released without charge last night. He had been arrested just over 12 hours earlier at his workplace in Dublin and was later brought to Drogheda Garda Station.

This was the second time both had been arrested.

Ms O'Reilly, 30, was found dead at her home in Baldarragh, Naul, in Co Dublin, in October 2004.

Yesterday's arrests follow garda examination of mobile phone records which appear to contradict statements the two had earlier given on their whereabouts at the time of the murder.

Earlier yesterday the inquest into the death of Rachel O'Reilly was further adjourned for six months.

Gardaí say they hope to have their investigations concluded by then.
