Gardaí investigating the murder of 22-year-old Donna Cleary last weekend have arrested another man.

The 21-year-old, who is from the Coolock area, presented himself at Coolock Garda Station this evening after having been advised to do so by a solicitor.

Gardaí had been looking for him and had carried out a number of searches in the area this morning.

He was arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm and is now being detained under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act.

The chief suspect for the murder, 24-year-old Dwayne Foster, died in police custody on Tuesday.

Two men who were being questioned by gardaí about the murder were last night released without charge.

Jeffrey Finnegan, 26, from Rathvilly Drive in Finglas was freed after the High Court ruled that his continuing detention was illegal.

Mr Justice Iarfhlaith O'Neill ruled that the District Court warrant which allowed gardaí to detain him for a further 24 hours had been made 25 minutes after his detention period had expired.

The judge concluded that Mr Finnegan's detention was therefore illegal and he was subsequently released without charge.

The second man being held was also released without charge shortly before 11pm last night.

A man and a woman were released without charge on Tuesday night.
