Gardaí investigating the fatal stabbing of a man in north Dublin this morning have recovered a knife believed to be the weapon used in the attack.
The 25-year-old victim, originally from Riga in Latvia, was attacked after two men entered his rented home at Ardcollum Avenue in Artane at around 8.45am.
It appears that there was a struggle in the upstairs area of the house and the man was stabbed a number of times.
He was taken to Beaumont Hospital but was pronounced dead at 9.30am. The man's identity will not be released until all his relatives have been informed.
The area has been sealed off and officers from the Garda Technical Bureau are examining the scene.
Gardaí have yet to establish a motive for the attack. They are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to contact them at 01-6664000.
