United Nations investigators have begun questioning five Syrian officials as part of the investigation into the assassination of the former Lebanese Prime Minister, Rafik al-Hariri.
The officials, who have not been named, are being interviewed at the UN offices in Vienna after weeks of wrangling over a venue.
A UN report has already implicated Syrian officials in Mr Hariri's murder in a bomb blast in Beirut on 14 February.
However, Syria has strongly denied its involvement.
The Damascus government agreed to the interviews after reportedly receiving assurances from one of the five permanent members of the UN Security Council that the officials would be allowed to return to Syria immediately afterwards.
