Further arrest over Northern Bank raid

Police investigating the Northern Bank robbery in Belfast last December have made another arrest.

A 39-year-old man is being questioned in connection with the £26.5m raid.

Two other men are still being held as part of the investigation, while two men have appeared in court.

One of them was charged today with making false statements to police investigating the robbery.

The charge relates to the purchase, possession and sale of a white Ford Transit van believed to have been used in the raid.

42-year-old Martin McAliskey, of Ballybeg Road, Coalisland, Co Tyrone, was granted bail at Belfast Magistrates Court.
