An 18-year-old youth is in a critical condition in hospital after he sustained head wounds during an assault in Limerick City.
The incident happened on Old Cratloe Road at around 10.10pm last night.
Gardaí believe that the man was in the company of a number of other people when the assault happened.
Gardaí are appealing for anyone who witnessed to the attack to come forward.
