An unemployed 23-year-old man has been brought before Dublin District Court charged with the theft of personal property from the scene of an accident involving a bus on O'Connell Street.

Jonathan Brophy, with an address at Richmond Park in Bray, was arrested yesterday.

He was charged with stealing property, including a handbag, passport, cash and keys on 15 September.

Sgt Brian Cullen of Store Street Garda Station applied for Mr Brophy to be remanded in custody.

Mr Brophy did not make a bail application and he was remanded in custody to appear before Cloverhill District Court next week.
