Former US President Bill Clinton has said he is profoundly grateful for the Irish Government's contribution to the Clinton Foundation's work in tackling HIV in Africa.

Mr Clinton was speaking after meeting an Irish Government delegation in Mozambique today.

The Government's overseas programme is providing €50m for the Clinton Foundation over a five year period, of which €40m is being spent in Mozambique.

The Government delegation was led by the Minister of State at the Department of Foreign Affairs, Conor Lenihan.
