Kenyan police have arrested two watchmen who were guarding a Roman Catholic church where an Italian bishop was shot and killed overnight in the town of Isiolo.
Bishop Luigi Locati of the Isiolo diocese was shot in the head and neck late yesterday and died shortly before he was airlifted from the scene. He was 77.
Isiolo is about 200km north of Nairobi.
Police are investigating whether the bishop's death was linked to deadly inter-clan violence in the northern region that resulted in at least 77 deaths this week.
