Three men have appeared at a special sitting of Limerick District Court charged in connection with the seizure of guns and ammunition in Co Clare.
The weapons were found in a van stopped by Gardaí at Drumlin, Newmarket-on-Fergus in Clare.
They are 46-year-old John Murphy from Ballina, Killaloe, Co Tipperary; 38-year-old Cathal O'Neill of William Street, Limerick and 45-year-old Michael Gerard Heelan, Boherbee, Mallow, Co Cork.
They were charged with possession of a Magnum semi-automatic pistol, a sawn-off shotgun, and ammunition.
The three were arrested by armed detectives and members of the Dublin based Emergency Response Unit near Shannon, Co Clare.
The van in which the three men were travelling rammed a patrol car at Drumline on the old Limerick-Ennis road Friday morning.
