At least ten people have been killed in a suicide car bomb attack north of the Iraqi capital, Baghdad.
Twelve others were wounded in the attack in which the bomber rammed his car into a house.
The attack happened late yesterday in a village near the town of Balad, about 80km from Baghdad, according to the US military and the Iraqi Defence Ministry.
It comes as the latest in a surge of attacks in the last six weeks since the formation of Iraq's new government. The attacks have focussed on the capital.
