Farranree, Cork - Body found this morning

Gardaí in Cork are treating as suspicious the death of a man whose body was found at a house on the northside of the city.

The body was discovered in an upstairs bedroom at a house at Fairfield Road in Farranree, at 9.30am this morning.

The dead man was 36-years old and Polish. He had been staying at the rented house where his body was discovered. It is believed that he shared the house with five other Polish men and that it was only recently rented.

A forensic examination of the house has been taking place and a post mortem examination on the man's body is underway at Cork University Hospital.
