Protesters at the Radió na Gaeltachta headquarters in Casla suspended their demonstration against the erection of extra telecom antennae on a transmission mast earlier today.
The protesters are due to hold talks tomorrow with representatives of RTÉ Transmission Network, Vodafone and Raidió Na Gaeltachta.
Earlier today, a group of 30 local residents demonstrated at the entrance to the Raidió Na Gaeltachta studios, preventing employees of RTÉ Transmission Network from entering the site.
The protestors say they have serious concerns on health grounds about the erection of the additional equipment on the mast.
A spokesman for the residents' group, Pat McDonagh, said there had been a lack of consultation with local people and they want to establish clearly if the additional telecoms equipment would or would not present a health hazard.
In a statement on the protest, RTÉ Transmission Network said that the work involved would be done in accordance with the international guidelines on non-ionising radiation protection.
The RTÉ subsidiary added that all necessary planning and licence permissions had been granted for the erection of the antennae.
