Gardaí in Lucan in Co Dublin have arrested one man following the seizure of guns and ammunition.
The man was spotted by a routine patrol at around 1.45am this morning cycling a pushbike on Shancastle Crescent in Ronanstown.
When the gardaí approached the man, he threw a bag away and ran. He was pursued and arrested.
The gardaí recovered the bag, which contained a pistol, a shotgun and cartridge ammunition.
The man, who is in his late 20s, is now being detained under Section 30 of the Offences against the State Act in Ronanstown Garda Station.
