The Sinn Féin President, Gerry Adams, has said that the issue of the early release of Det Garda Jerry McCabe's killers must be kept on the agenda if the IRA is to stay on course with the peace process.

Speaking on RTÉ's The Late, Late Show last night, Mr Adams said that it is not a case of selling out to killers, or of the Irish Government letting people down.

He said it is a way to ensure that the IRA do not see themselves as contributing to the failure of the process.
