The trial of the former Yugoslav president, Slobodan Milosevic, resumed at the International War Crimes Tribunal in The Hague today.
The court heard testimony about the 1999 massacre of 45 people in the Kosovo town of Racak.
The alleged massacre of civilians by Serb troops in Racak is a key element in the UN court's indictment against the former Yugoslav president over the 1998-99 conflicts in the Serb province of Kosovo.
The trial had been delayed for a month to allow lawyers assigned to defend Mr Milosevic time to prepare their case.
Last month he was forced to take on a court-appointed legal team after medical tests showed he was not fit enough to continue presenting his own case.
Mr Milosevic is accused of more than 60 charges of war crimes and crimes against humanity for his role in the Balkan wars in the 1990s.
