The latest list of tax defaulters published by the Revenue Commission this afternoon shows 180 people who held bogus non-resident accounts made settlements totalling just under €130 million.

An insurance broker from Fermoy in Co Cork, Charles J McCarthy, has made the second highest published settlement ever of €6.4 million.

The singer, Big Tom, from Castleblayney, made a settlement of €100,000.

And a Catholic curate, Fr Hugh Sweeney from Lifford, Co Donegal, also the holder of a bogus non-resident account made a settlement of €125,000.
