Scientists in Britain are launching a conservation project aimed at preserving the DNA of endangered species.
The Frozen Ark project will store samples of the DNA and tissue specimens of thousands of species.
The scientists say if a species does become extinct, a record will exist for research and future cloning.
Professor Phil Rainbow, the keeper of zoology at the Natural History Museum in London, says the project is vital for the future of endangered animals.
