Three Iraqi policemen killed

Three Iraqi policemen were killed in an overnight attack by guerrillas near the town of Baquba, 65km northeast of Baghdad.

The attack was near the mixed Sunni and Shi'ite town of Baquba, where insurgents attacked police stations and government buildings on Thursday in fierce fighting that killed two US soldiers and more than a dozen Iraqis.

Some of the fighters in Baquba wore headbands linking them to Jordanian militant Abu Musab Zarqawi, who Washington says has links to Osama bin Laden's al-Qaeda network.
