Al-Qaeda intelligence chief killed

It has been reported that an intelligence chief in Osama bin Laden's al-Qaeda network was killed during an offensive against militants on the Afghan border.

It has been reported that an intelligence chief in Osama bin Laden's al-Qaeda network was killed during a 12-day offensive against militants on the Afghan border.

The claim was made by a Pakistani army spokesperson. The al-Qaeda intelligence chief has been identified as Mr Abdullah. More than 100 people were killed in the offensive in the south Waziristan region.
