Gates will stop SPAM in two years

The chairman of the computer software company Microsoft, Bill Gates, has promised a means of eradicating SPAM within the next two years.

The chairman of the computer software company Microsoft, Bill Gates, has promised to provide a means of eradicating unsolicited e-mail communications, or SPAM, within the next two years.

Mr Gates was speaking at the World Economic Forum in the Swiss resort of Davos.

He said his company was working on several potential solutions to the problem.

It is estimated that SPAM makes up about 40% of all e-mails received.
