The Department of Foreign affairs has confirmed the identity of the Waterford man who died in Vietnam on Thursday night.
He was 29-year-old Gerard Power from Bunmahon in Co Waterford.
The Department would not comment on the circumstances surrounding his death, for confidentiality reasons.
A family member has said they are unsure as to how Mr Power died.
