The Minister for Defence has said that all necessary services will be provided for Irish troops about to be deployed in Liberia, West Africa.
The Minister's assurance follows concerns expressed by the officers' association, RACO, about the adequacy of medical services in what it described as an inherently dangerous situation in Liberia.
430 Irish troops are expected to take up peace enforcement duties in Liberia in the next two weeks, and the Dáil is due to approve the mission tomorrow.
