Dublin thieves steal Iraq aid money

More than €6,000 in aid money for Iraq has been stolen by thieves in Dublin.

A bag containing the money was taken from Caoimhe Butterly, an International Solidarity Movement volunteer, on O'Connell Street yesterday afternoon.

Ms Butterly, who spent a month in the besieged compound of the Palestinian President, Yasser Arafat, in Ramallah last year, was on her way to Iraq with the money donated by Iraqi exiles.

The bag also contained her travel documents and airline tickets.
