A Limerick city solicitor has issued subpoenas for both the Taoiseach and the Minister for Defence, Michael Smith, to appear as witnesses at Shannon District court on 12 June.
The summonses have been issued by solicitor John Devane, acting for Dublin woman, Jennifer Hannon, and Martin McGowan from Sligo, who are both charged with criminal damage and trespass at Shannon airport on Good Friday last.
It is understood the Taoiseach and the Minister for Defence are to seek legal advice from the Attorney General on the matter.
Mr Devane also informed Limerick Circuit Court today that he was now acting for 50-year-old Mary Kelly from Skibbereen in Co Cork, who is also charged with causing criminal damage and trespass at Shannon on 29 January last.
Her case will come before Clare Circuit court on 24 June next.
