Postal deliveries in Derry are at a standstill because of a threat from Loyalist paramilitaries against a Catholic postal worker. The threat, which was made in a phone call to the Samaritan organisation, named one worker in the Waterside area of the city.
The threat comes three weeks after postal staff across the North stopped work for several days. The stoppage followed the Loyalist murder of the Catholic postman, Daniel McColgan, in North Belfast and threats against other workers.
The Communications Workers Union has said postal deliveries will not resume until the threat is lifted.
