Rangers maintained their four-point lead at the top of the Scottish Premier League over Old Firm rivals Celtic going into the winter shutdown. Billy Dodds grabbed Rangers' equaliser after Mark Viduka had fired Celtic ahead, both goals coming in a rousing first half. Alan Stubbs came to Celtic's rescue in the 70th minute, making a dramatic goal-line clearance after Wallace's shot had beaten keeper Gould. A cross from Regi Blinker caused Rangers problems and then Ian Wright headed well wide, with both sides having to settle for a point.
