The injuries claim taken by the husband of the woman who died when Philip Sheedy's car crashed into them has been settled out of court. John Ryan from Tymon Cresent in Tallaght was suing for damages for the loss of his wife and for the mental and physical injuries he himself suffered in 1996. Counsel for Mr Ryan told the court that the personal injuries claim was settled for an undisclosed sum. It was described however as very significant. Mr Ryan was awarded £260,000 damages for the fatal injuries claim.
