A former nun has gone on trial in the Central Criminal Court, accused of raping a child in her care in the late 1980s. It is alleged that the nun, who is now 51, assisted her co-accused, a 50-year-old man. The child was aged between nine and twelve at the time. The former nun is also facing four charges of indecent assault.
