Two men arrested in County Cork last night were released without charge, early today. They were arrested as part of a Garda investigation into possible attempted child abductions in County Clare during the week. The men travelling in a black jeep were arrested at a checkpoint at Charleville at about half past six yesterday evening. They were taken to Mallow Garda station for questioning but were let go shortly after midnight.
The investigation was launched on Wednesday after Gardaí in Clare received reports that suspicious approaches have been made to a seven-year-old boy and girl in two separate incidents within hours of each other in Tulla and Doonbeg on Tuesday evening.
