Éamon de Valera recalls the first night he spent in Ireland as a young child.
In an interview recorded for a five part radio series 'A Boy from Bruree' Éamon de Valera tells Donncha Ó Dúlaing about the first night he spent in Ireland as a young child. As he explains the arrival of the young Éamon coincided with the move from the family's old thatched house to their new labourer's cottage the following day.
My first night in Ireland was the last night that anybody slept in the old house.
