Most toys will mean joy for children but for a small minority there are dangers.
Most toys bring happiness and joy on Christmas morning. However, there are some that are dangerous and are in breach of health and safety regulations.
In Ireland there is a watch dog at the Institute of Industrial Research and Standards, who has come up with a rule book called 'The Irish Standard Specifications for Children's Toys'.
Alan Porter, Director of Standards, spoke to RTÉ News about some of the more dangerous toys including a paraffin lamp and toy soldiers.
