In conversation with David Hanly, Heaney describes the local geographical boundaries of his home place, Mossbawn in Derry, which features in so much of his writing. He also speaks about his father, a cattle dealer and "a man much devoted to not speaking". His mother on the other hand came from a family where argument and speech were prominent.
