The EEC and the future of Ireland and its relationship with its neighbours.
Joe Fahy, RTE's Political Correspondent, looks at the Referendum and the campaigns for and against entering the European Economic Community.
Ireland goes to the polls on 10 May 1972, when the people will decide the future of Ireland and its relationship with its neighbours in Europe, in or out of the EEC.
This article appeared in the RTÉ Guide to coincide with a radio programme from Joe Fahy, RTÉ's political correspondent. While all the key political parties are looking for a 'Yes' vote in favour of Ireland joining the EEC, it is ultimately the people that will decide.
