Telegraphs of congratulations on the opening night of Telefís Éireann.
Telefís Éireann received many telegraphs of congratulations on its opening night, New Year's Eve 1961. A selection of these telegraphs is presented here. The well-wishers include Darcy Hayward of the United Nations, English author Francis Durbridge and his wife Nora, and closer to home, Síle Ní Bhriain and the staff of the Cork Studio Centre.
