More than 150 Romanian children have been adopted by Irish parents but these adoptions, which are legal under Romanian law, aren't recognised in Ireland. Fine Gael, Teachta Dála, Alan Shatter, has published a private member's bill aimed at regularising the situation. Fianna Fáil say they intend to produce a similar bill.
