From next year, all self-employed people including farmers are to become part of the social insurance net.

The self-employed will now become eligible for pensions and other payments.

Interview with Michael Woods, Minister for Social Welfare who says that we are the only country in the European Economic Community (EEC) which does not have social insurance for the self employed and their inclusion is an important step forward.
