Peter Robinson, Deputy Leader, Democratic Unionist Party (DUP) appeared in the Special Criminal Court on charges arising out of incidents at Clontibret last August.

Mr Robinson faced eleven charges including assault on two Gardaí.

The judge fixed 13 January 1987 as the date for the trial.

Leaving the court, Mr Robinson spoke briefly to members of the press. He said he was innocent of all charges against him.
