The Pan American Clipper III, along with another seaplane, made the first transatlantic commercial "survey" flights on 5-6 July 1937. The plane travelled from Port Washington to Shedia (New Brunswick), Botwood (New Foundland), Foynes (Ireland) and Southampton (England).
