Women from the New Lodge Road call for British troops to be withdrawn and the deployment of a UN force.

On 8 February 1971 the British Army at the New Lodge Road area of Belfast invaded the flats at Templer House and Artillery House. They knocked down a five-year-old girl, killing her instantly.

Women and children fled from their homes, taking refuge in various halls in the city or staying with relatives.

Carrying United Nations flags, women from the New Lodge Road area march to Girdwood Park Barracks,

We demand the withdrawal of British Army units from the New Lodge Road area after the disgraceful conduct and destruction by British soldiers in our district.

They want the British Army withdrane from their neighbourhood,

We feel that these soldiers are not impartial and therefore can give us no protection.

They call on the United Nations forces to intervene and come to their assistance as,

We have suffered untold misery under the heel of Crown Forces.
