Having drawn the Ulster Football Final Donegal and Tyrone returned to Clones for the replay.

Although Tyrone had needed a last gasp score to earn a draw in the first game they totally dominated Donegal in the replay.

Two first half goals gave Tyrone a lead of 2-4 to 0-4 at half time. Stephen Conway scored Tyrone's first goal from a penalty after Eugene McKenna was brought down. A mix up in the Donegal defence allowed Damien O'Hagan to score Tyrone's second goal. Despite a promising start after the break by Donegal, Tyrone led by Eugene McKenna powered on to win the game 2-13 to 0-07. Martin McHugh was Donegal's top scorer on the day with 4 points.

Team captain Plunkett Donaghy accepted the Anglo-Celt cup on behalf of Tyrone who were winning their third Ulster title in 5 years.
