The leader of Tibetan Buddhism, the Dalai Lama brings a message of simplicity and compassion to Ireland.
On the second day of his visit, the spiritual leader of Tibetan Buddhism, the Dalai Lama addressed over 3,000 people at the University of Limerick. He spoke of forgiveness, love, hope, tolerance and the importance of smiling. He urged parents and teachers to train young people in compassion.
Through action, through attitude, they will get the value of compassion.
There were musical performances, including a song specially written and performed by young children from regeneration schools in Limerick city.
Cormac Flynn from St Mary's National School, Limerick, described the Dalai Lama as
A very wise man.
Carrie Ann Stewart from Sexton Street Primary School said that people came to hear what the Dalai Lama had to say.
People travelled from all over the country to listen to the Dalai Lama's words. One of those was Tyrone gaelic football manager Mickey Harte who spoke about on the profound simplicity of the message.
