National hunt jockey Tommy Treacy has created a special partnership with Danoli.

Young national hunt jockey Tommy Treacy from Graiguenamanagh in County Kilkenny has been in the sports headlines since being chosen to ride racehorse Danoli. The next challenge for the young jockey is to take on the best of British racing in the Champion Hurdle at the Cheltenham National Hunt Festival.

Tommy Treacy is not daunted, as he has raced against them before.

And bet them on numerous occasions so I won't be worried about them anyway.

He describes Danoli as a gutsy special racehorse who loves the crowds.

I'd say his heart is as big as an engine on a car.

Tommy Treacy's father Jim knows his son is capable of riding Danoli to success at Cheltenham,

I think he'll be well able to do the job.

Trainer Tom Foley agrees,

Like the horse he's after maturing over the year and I think he's the making of a right little rider.

There is no doubt in Graiguenamanagh that Tommy Treacy is a local hero and the support is so great that one woman estimates half of the town are going to Cheltenham.

We're rooting for him here the whole way.
