An audience member and comic creation of Dermot Morgan rages over blasphemous content on 'The Live Mike'.

As Mike Murphy reads a viewer's comment about the Irish rugby team, he is interrupted by Dermot Morgan posing as a disgruntled member of the ‘The Live Mike’ audience.

What I've seen and witnessed is a bloody disgrace.

He believes the show is typical of RTÉ,

I have seen you make a mockery of everything we hold sacred.

The final straw is laughing at the Almighty. When Mike Murphy denies blasphemy he shouts,

I am not talking about God, I'm talking about laughing at Charlie Haughey, how dare you!

Brandishing a hurley, Dermot Morgan charges onto the set and, in a fit of rage, smashes some of the set.

This episode of 'The Live Mike' was broadcast on 13 February 1981. The presenter is Mike Murphy.

‘The Live Mike’ first aired on RTÉ 1 on 9 November 1979. It was billed as a one-hour Friday-night programme of comment, entertainment and surprises. The programme also contained a candid-camera slot in which Mike Murphy and his team took on many disguises.
