The first showing of nineteen filmed versions of Samuel Beckett plays will be at the Irish Film Centre.
RTÉ was awarded the rights to film the works, using some of the world's greatest directors and actors, including Alan Rickman, Kristin Scott Thomas, Anthony Minghella and Neil Jordan.
Joe Mulholland, Executive Producer, describes 'Beckett on Film' as an opportunity for people in Ireland and around the world to see the works of Samuel Beckett in a new light. Joe Mulholland says that every effort has been made to respect the original integrity of Beckett's work while bringing cinematic techniques to it.
'Beckett On Film', which includes all 19 Beckett plays, will take place at the Irish Film Centre in Dublin from 2 to 8 February. The films will also be shown on RTÉ Television from 18 March to 2 April.
