Clarecastle was one of the towns recognised for environmental work with a regional Tidy Towns Award.
The County Clare town of Clarecastle is among three towns in the mid-west area to receive a regional Tidy Towns Award. At a ceremony in Limerick awards given to towns in Clare, Limerick and north Tipperary. This was recognition for the best results in removing derelict buildings, abandoned cars and other litter from the environs.
The awards went to Clarecastle in County Clare, Croom in County Limerick and Templemore in County Tipperary.
The Ennis Library, the Allied Irish Banks building in Abbeyfeale, Corofin National School, Adare, Terryglass National School and St Cronin's Parish Church in Roscrea also received awards.
