New tricks and old at the Munster Society of Magicians annual convention.

The Munster Society of Magicians has 25 active members, their ranks include priests, teachers and factory workers.

Their annual convention is an opportunity to acquire new tricks and practice old ones under the critical eyes of fellow practitioners.

One magician hoping for the acclaim of colleagues is Pat O'Sullivan from Killarney, better known as The Great Silvano. He performs an elevation act with his young assistant Anita on the tip of a sword.

Limerick factory supervisor Tony Hurley has spent months perfecting a new German variation on the old pen in the balloon trick.

The founder of the Munster Society of Magicians, The Great Vincento, otherwise known as Limerick television dealer Vincent Finucane claims to have the answer to all our financial problems and to be willing to turn it over to Finance Minister Alan Dukes.

He performs a folding money trick which sees a one pound note transform into a five pound note.

The Munster Society of Magicians will present three performances of a Spectacular Magic and Comedy Show at The Belltable in Limerick on 26 October 1985. The admission is £1.00.
