Two young girls from Dublin get to live their dream and become street traders for the day.

The Dream Machine, a segment on 'Youngline', meant that Amanda Browne and Jennifer McCarthy got to sell vegetables on Moore Street in Dublin.

Jennifer McCarthy explains how her mother, as a child, collected the damaged fruit and vegetables left behind at the end of the day on Moore Street.

Amanda Browne and Jennifer McCarthy spend the day with stallholder Annie, who teaches them the tricks of the trade. Her advice to the girls is to weigh the fruit and vegetables properly, be nice to the customers and make sure to give them the correct change. The girls get to practice their selling cries.

Cauliflowers, 20 pence each.
Salad, 10 pence a head.

At the end of their shift, Annie was very happy with their work and predicted they would make very good dealers.
